Several Mars Area Centennial School students competed in the Academic Games League of America (AGLOA) LinguiSHTIK academic competition, held Dec. 15 at Slippery Rock University.

Participating students included fifth-graders Olivia Airgood, Blake Brewer, Madison Cawley, Avery Harrison, Parker Joseph, Meredith Lindsay, Jack Sechler and Luka Zatchey.

LinguiSHTIK challenges students in grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and writing skills. Players compete to compose sentences with proper grammar application and richer vocabulary.

The competition, open to students in Grade 4-12, brings together students from schools Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties through Midwestern Intermediate IV. For more information, visit www.agloa.org/linguishtik/.
