School Receives Lacrosse Equipment Donation

Earlier this month, several athletes from Mars (Boys) Youth Lacrosse Association visited Mars Area Centennial School to help unbox donated lacrosse equipment for use in the school’s physical education classes.

Mars Area eighth-graders Carter Gallagher, Nico Salvini, Henry Saver and Josh Wilburn; seventh-grader Luke Reinhart; sixth-grader Finn McKenzie; and fourth-grader Jay Schlie, helped to unwrap lacrosse sticks balls and nets, which will be used to teach fifth- and sixth-graders about the sport. Students, under the athletes’ guidance, also had an opportunity to test out the new equipment.

The school appreciates this generous donation from Mars Youth Lacrosse Association, says Sara Coon, health & physical education teacher, who expects to begin teaching a unit on lacrosse this spring.  For more information, call (724) 625-2601.
