Mars Area Centennial School sixth-graders Lukas Boronyak and Alexis Riner were selected to receive 2021-2022 Good Citizen Awards.
Teachers and staff members were asked to vote for two students from the list of those sixth-graders, who were selected to serve as School Ambassadors during the school’s Fourth Grade Transition Days (April 20-21). During the event, the ambassadors led Mars Area Elementary School fourth-graders, who will be graduating to the fifth grade next school year, on tours of the building.
In addition to Boronyak and Riner, nominees included sixth-graders Kaitlyn Abel, Nick Babeo, Ella Barbish, Alayna Day, Kole Funovits, Sophia Fritch, Christian Gehr, Jeffrey Irwin, Reanna Kolarcik-Schmitt, Sage Mahan, Ethan Morley, Torrin O’Leary, Reese Polito, Alex Shaha, Brody Spencer, Makayla Thornton, Tyler Yurek and Seth Zwigart.
As Good Citizen Award recipients, Boronyak and Riner’s names will be submitted to Sen. Scott E. Hutchison’s Office for special recognition. For more information, call (724) 625-2601.
