Mars Area Centennial School sixth-grader Kinley Manges earned third place for her entry in the Pennsylvania Resource Council’s 2022 Gene Capaldi Lens on Litter Photo Contest.
Manges was honored in the Student Category for her photo, “Drowning in Pollution” (below), which depicts a stream bed littered with trash and a dead fish. She also received a $100 prize.
The annual contest asks entrants to submit photos that help to heighten litter consciousness by showing how it threatens public health and safety, scenic beauty, property values, the environment, pets and wildlife.
