Mars Area School District’s elementary schools collected $32.282.57 as part of an annual fundraiser to benefit the American Heart Association.

Mars Area Primary Center (K-1) raised $20,120.78 and Mars Area Elementary School (2-4) brought in $9,905.24 through the school’s participation in the American Heart Challenge. Mars Area Centennial School (5-6) raised $2,256.55 through the school’s participation in the American Heart Challenge.

In addition to collecting donations, students learned about proper heart health, while participating in heart healthy activities in their physical education classes and joined in theme days to raise awareness about the cause.
