Sixth-grader Aarya Raut and fifth-grader Siddhartha Senthilkumar won the competition. Runners-up were sixth-grader Rhythm Srivastava and fifth-grader Isaiah Hayes.
The Chess Club was founded earlier this school year by a group of students in Jennifer Bradel’s sixth grade class. The students, led by sixth-grader Teagan Thomas, submitted a proposal to Adam Kostewicz, principal, who approved the club and purchased some chess boards and timers.
