Mars Area Centennial School fifth-grader Lily Wingard was selected for the Shining Star Award at the 2023 Alex Summers Invitational, held Nov. 4-5 at Butler Gymnastics Club.

Wingard, a competitive gymnast at Xquisite Gymnastics (Cranberry Township), earned an overall score of 37.800 in XS Older division. In individual competition, she received a score of 9.450 in the vault, 9.550 (bars), 9.300 (beam), and 9.500 (floor).
