School Names Science Fair Special Award Winners

Fifth-grader Kristin Sadhu received the Best Overall award for “Why is Our WiFi So Bad?” Fifth-grader Mia Foley was selected for the Most Creative Award for her project, “Dog Noses;” sixth-grader Londyn Szczypiorski, Best Oral Presentation for “Is My Dog’s Mouth Cleaner Than Mine?”; and, sixth-grader Andrew Moravek, Most Scientific for “The Wonderful World of Wind.”

Other participants included sixth-graders Ishita Jain, Layla Kolarcik-Schmitt, Arjun Mohapatra and Declan Powell; and, fifth-graders Noah Fecich and Maxwell McEwen, Vivienne Navari and Annabelle Bombick, and Lily Stephans.

The goal of the annual event, sponsored by Mars Area Elementary PTO, is to stimulate imagination and independent thinking; increase students’ knowledge in a variety of scientific areas; teach the use of the scientific process; train students in organization and major task completion; and provide an opportunity to enjoy science.
