Two Mars Area School District students earned top awards in Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV’s annual Very Special Arts Exhibit, held March 15-23 at Grove City College’s Pew Fine Arts Center
Kindergartner Sophia Good was selected for the Gary L. Miller Award for her piece, “Sunflower” which was also chosen to be printed on this year’s event t-shirts. Sixth-grader Matthew Konitzky was selected for the Executive Director’s Creativity Award for his drawing, “Two-Point Perspective.”
Other students, whose works were featured in the art show, include sixth-graders Kadins Fetterhoff and Jackson Kaunert; fifth-grader Rocco Briggs, Liam Settlemire, Dolly Searle, Alex Konitzky and Shawn Gluvna; fourth-graders Safwane Badrane, Maggie Coopey, Connor Donnelly, Thomas Reddinger, Eli Will and Roree Zawitz; third-graders Dexton Celender, Frank Cohen, Emmy Cyr, Cameron Dickinson, Lyla Sefchok and Chacen Sicignano; second-graders Kenan Badrane, Beau Briggs, Maryjane Eichenauer, Audrey McGivern and Lillian Wolf; first-graders Coby Hays, Xavier Smida, Gray Laubach, Nicholas Sandorf, and Buddy Eppinger; and, kindergartners Kendall Hager, Kyri Li and Camden Sowko.
