Incoming Mars Area Centennial School sixth-grader Sawyer Hertzog will compete in the 2024 USA Ball Hockey Future Stars Invitational, to be held Aug. 7-11 at Buffalo Riverworks (N.Y.).

Hertzog will join 22 players from across the state who will compete as members of Team Pennsylvania Future Stars. The team is one of seven formed by the U.S., bringing together youth hockey players throughout the country.

In the community, Hertzog is a member of the Cranberry Screaming Eagles Travel Dek Hockey Team and the Pittsburgh Aviators Hockey Club Travel Ice Hockey Team.
