Sixth-grader Wins Drive, Chip & Putt Event

Caris HartmanMars Area Centennial School sixth-grader Caris Hartman took first place in the Girls 10-11 Division of the Drive, Chip & Putt Mid-Atlantic Regional Qualifier, held Sept. 21 at Aronimink Golf Club (Newtown Square, Pa).

Hartman earned a total of 133 points with three attempts in each of the Drive (33 points), Chip (45 points) and Putt (55 points) skill areas. She advanced to the Regional Qualifier after placing first in the Drive, Chip & Putt Sub-Regional Qualifier, held Aug. 7 at Nemacolin Woodlands; and first in the Local Qualifier, held June 26 at Butler Country Club.

She qualified for the Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals to be held April 6 at Augusta National Golf Club (Augusta, Ga.). The event will be aired lived on the Golf Channel and NBC Sports digital platforms.
