Mars Girls Youth Basketball Association’s Girls Sixth Grade Gold Basketball Team earned first place in the 2025 Pittsburgh Youth Basketball League (PYBL) championship.  

The team earned an overall record of 11-1 and won three consecutive playoff games, defeating North Allegheny (28-13), Pine Richland (27-17) and Plum (26-20)

Team members include Mars Area Centennial School sixth-graders Alyssa Day, Emma Eriksen, Gia Ginocchi, Addison Hainan, Sienna Reilly, Avi Rocco, Talia Sanata, Addison Schaerer and Kate Sherwin.
