Mars Area Students to Take Stage for Willy Wonka Jr.

Several Mars Area School District students are performing in Batavia Studios production of Willy Wonka Jr., which takes the stage, Friday, April 4, through Sunday, April 6, at Butler County Community College’s Succop Theater.

Performers include eighth-graders Gianna Bartley (portraying Grandpa Joe) and  Elisabeth Pettigrew (Grandma Josephina); seventh-grader Ella Eisenhauer (Mr. Bucket); sixth-graders Grace Carnicelli (Candy Man/Featured Dancer), Saylor Hoder (Charlie) and Katie Wyman (Candy Man Kid/Ensemble); fifth-graders Amaya Constant (Oompa Loompa), Maggie Coopey (Candy Man Kid/Ensemble), Amelia Forte (Candy Man Kid/Featured Dancer) and Savannah Keller (Oompa Loompa); fourth-graders Kate Buttermore (Candy Man Kid/Squirrel), Eva Foringer (Mr. Salt/Candy Man Kid) and Ellie Mowen (Candy Man Kid/Featured Dancer); and second-grader Addison Winn (Candy Man Kid/Ensemble).

The show, based on the book by Roald Dahl, tells the tale of Charlie Bucket, who, along with an eclectic group of children, earns a golden ticket to tour the chocolate factory of the enigmatic candymaker Willy Wonka. The children must learn to follow the factory rules or suffer the consequences.
