District Recognizes Winners of Bus Safety Poster Contest

In celebration of National School Bus Safety Week, Mars Area School District honored the winners of the District’s 2024-2025 School Bus Safety Poster Contest at a special ceremony on Nov. 5.

In Division 1, open to students in Grades K-2, second-grader Harper Mahon took first place; third-grader Allegra Duran, second place; and second-grader Hailey Ferlic, third place. In Division 2 (3-5), fifth-grader Anastasia Trombulak received first place; fourth-grader Brooke Vukovich, second place; fourth-grader Felicity Williams, third place. The first place winners’ entries will be submitted to the 2025 PennDOT School Bus Safety Poster Contest.

Honorable Mention were awarded to fifth-grader Gavin Toth; fourth-graders Rowan Barbish and Sadie Vaccaro; third-grader Cara Stoy; second-graders Sienna Meier, Shane Miller and Aspen Waldschmidt; and, first-graders Cooper Baumcratz, Kinsley Cross and Adeline Thiry.

At the event, each winner was presented with a framed picture of his/her poster contest entry. The contest asked students to design and submit a poster on the theme, “Safety First — Safety Always.”
