Students Join in Tri-Bowl Regional Academic Competition

students posing for a picture by a statue of a wolverineSeveral Mars Area Centennial School and Mars Area Elementary School students participated in the AGLOA (Academic Games Leagues of America) Tri-Bowl Regional Competition, held March 2-4 at Grove City College.

Sixth-graders Maximus Veneziano and Landon Lewis; fifth-graders Kendall Fonzi, Lukas Fecich and Jessica Li; and, fourth-graders Edison Thiry, Amelia PalermoAvery Mahon, and Tyson Szelong participated in LinguiSHTIKS (March 2).

Sixth-graders Maximus Veneziano and Landon Lewis; fifth-graders Kendall Fonzi, Lukas Fecich and Jessica Li, and fourth-grader Edison Thiry joined in Equations (March 4).

The students qualified for the Tri-Bowl event by going undefeated in one or more of AGLOA Academic Game, held earlier this year at Slippery Rock University. The annual competition, open to students in Grades 4-12 at Butler, Lawrence and Mercer county schools, challenges students to improve their knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, social studies, creative mathematics, and more.
