Mars Area Centennial School’s Kindness Club, in partnership with Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium, is collecting used cell phones and other electronic devices for recycling.
Devices may include cell phones, smart phones, iPads, iPods, tablets, Apple watches, adapters, chargers, MP3 players, handheld gaming systems, and headphones. Such electronic devices use the mineral, coltan, which is mined in critically endangered gorilla habitats.
These electronic devices may be dropped off through Wednesday, April 22, at the collection bin in the school’s lobby. All items will be delivered to Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium to be recycled to raise funds to help gorillas in the wild.
