Teachers Receive Enrichment Grants

Two Mars Area Centennial School teachers were selected to receive Mars Planet Foundation Teaching Enrichment Grants.

Chris Churilla, librarian/media studies teacher, received a $609.57 for a “Media Center Collaboration Space.” The space includes high-top tables and metal stools.

Colleen Hinrichsen, STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics) teacher, received a $1,312.05 for a “Transforming iPads into Creation Studios” project. The funding was used to purchase 15 Dewey Document Camera Stands to aid students in creating multimedia projects, such as stop-motion animation.

Mars Planet Foundation offers Teaching Enrichment Grants to Mars Area teachers/staff members to provide unique educational opportunities that are not part of the current curriculum and to maximize learning initiatives.
